anyone have the issue of missing the calls when the whatsapp application is open on the chat sussion and you cant find the caller number in the log?

what should i do to avoid this problem I am missing alot of calls becouse of this issue?

Yes yacoub,

Didn't encounter the issue you're facing with whatsapp.

I did asked a friend of mine using Galaxy S3 as well, and he also feed-back saying didn't encounter any issue similar to yours.

Maybe someone out there could help out?

what I have done now i uninstall the whatsapp and reinstall it. and I will observe what will happen.
i have contacted the galaxsy s support by email and the told me to visit the workshop.
this will be my last option.

I can confirm on AcNem no issuea with whats app.

Are you getting this problem while connwcted to 3g or wifi.

If you are on your data connection can you tell me if it says E instead of 3G?

hi IronSingh,

am connected on my Data plan I dont use the 3g network it burn out the battry very fast. am using the edge (E) on the connection signal. also I encounted the same issue even if I am connected on 3G. I did some test calls yesterday after reinstalling the whats app. and it was runing fine and I can see the Caller ID.
I hope the issue is solved.

if you have any alternative please let me know.

The Problem you are having is not related to software rather,

it is a combination of Old technology and poor Signal Strength.

Edge is a relic, it is one the very early Internet standards, I believe it started in 2000.

The problem with edge is, It is half duplex. Meaning it can either be on the Internet or receiving or making calls.

What this does is when you are on Edge you cannot receive calls as the GSM modem is not listening for calls, it is busy connected to the Internet.

Very much like Dial-up connection. When you are on Dial-up that number is busy.

There is a solution, goto Settings -> Wireless and Networks -> Mobile network Settings -> Network Mode.

Select WCDMA only.

This will disable Edge and Keep the connection to 3G only.

yes am on zain but the issue that am reciving the call and the phone does't respond to the call and answer it.
