Hey folks,

Long time no talk.  I have a rooted Galaxy S3 running 4.3 on AT&T.  And lately I can't seem to stop these very annoying push notifications for "AT&T Software updates".  As my phone is rooted (so I can use my unlimited data plan for tethering), I can't do the upgrade.

How do I kill these notifications?  There are driving me nuts.

There are potentially two options:
1) would be to kill the notification options in the app - if that is available.
2) do the update, then re-root post update - if rooting is still feasible post update.

1) look for the update software app in settings - app management. you will have to scroll sideways to get to the All apps option.
Then scroll down looking for the update options. Sorry can't tell you which app it is, but for my Sony it is called the update Centre. under the force stop button there should be a Show notification option - untick it.

2)XDA or similar should provide info on whether you can still root your phone post the update. Is there no app options that would still allow you to tether even when not rooted?
