Hey everybody.  New guy here.  I just bought my first S3 yesterday.  This is my first ever non-Iphone.  Anyway, as of today, the back button doesn't work at all.  Worked good yesterday.  I can feel the phone vibrate when I hit the menu button, but not the back button...and nothing at all happens.

Anyone ever had this problem?  Any ideas before I take it back?

Sorry i've not heard of this problem before. I'd take it straight back and get a replacement. Sounds like you got a dodgy handset there.

The 'back' button is basically a software button, if it isn't working it will be because an app or other software has locked it out. Look at your recently installed apps to see if the culprit sticks out. Or backup your personal details and do factory data reset.

It could be a faulty touch-screen but I would doubt it.

Does it not work in any app, or is it just some apps?

If it is just some apps it could be as per Ratty's post. However it might just be how the app is coded, it does work slightly differently depending on how and where you are and how the app was launched and how it is coded (and as Ratty Points out it can also be set up if apps allow it).

You could try and see if a restart resolves the issue - sometimes if android gets lost (very very occasional, a quick reboot can often resolve the issue).
