Hi
Sorry me again  Embarrased
I seem unable to receive picture messages - any ideas - I can see they are there but just gives me writing with a download button I push that it changes to downloading then nothing happens - very frustrating!!
Wont let me send a picture either it just sits there with the wee circle going round and round thinking - the picture has a wee arrow on it so it looks like it is a video but it is not!!
Not being able to send videos is a whole other frustrating story  Eyes Rolling

Having wifi turned on won't make it not send mms messages. The phone chooses which service to use and is programmed to use mobile data

Picture messaging is usually carrier/network dependant and relies on specific settings from them in the APN section of the data settings. Check with your network to confirm the correct details.

And Sarah is correct, having WIFI on or off won't make a difference, MMS will always use the mobile network same as SMS will.

Thanks everyone  Smile
So if this means I need to have mobile data turned on to receive a picture message it makes sense as I tend to have mobile data turned off more often than not. If this is the case does having wifi turned on override mobile data (not for picture text but in general). I only ask this as I tend to have mobile data turned off as I'm on a pre paid plan eg so many calling minutes & txt and only 200mb data. Thinking that I'll use wifi when at home and mobile data when away for weekends.
Just worried about stuff running in the background using my prepaid data with out me knowing - does any of this makes sense?
Once again I really appreciate all the support I have received from this forum  Big Grin

Yes where possible your phone will use wifi instead of mobile data.

And yeah you do need mobile data turned on for sending pic messages
