Hi all, I think the the power control in the notifications drop down area is cool, but I would like to be able to add or remove some controls -- of particular note is the missing wifi control...

Any ideas how to customize or even remove the "widget"?

I have a WiFi control there... not sure if the options vary by carrier or International vs American versions. But when i bring down my notifications bar, I have WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Sound Profile, Screen Rotation, Mobile data, power saving, airplane mode and sync

Have you scrolled it left and right?

Yes, of course I've scrolled side to side--it does it a little animation when you pull it down so I don't know how one would miss that feature.

My carrier is Verizon and I have these options:
Bluetooth - GPS - Sound - Mobile data - Screen rotation - Power saving - Airplane mode - Driving mode - Sync

But of course, I'm interested in how to customize or remove, not what you have.

What you want doesn't appear possible at the moment, maybe a developer will write a mod to do it later on, who knows.

But in the mean time, the posts above were merely trying to show you what they have, the fact that you don't have it is either down a carrier modification or your device's firmware is faulty in either case the bad attitude you displayed is not going to help matters.

My apologies if I came off with a bad attitude, I just meant to steer folks in the right direction and ward of 100 posts of "mine has wifi".  Though it is interesting that apparently the carrier may have some influence on which buttons are there -- perhaps Verizon is trying to make it difficult to turn wifi off since without an easy access in the drop down I myself would default to leaving it on and therefore offloading from Verizon's network.

I would be interested if someone finds a config file somewhere for the buttons or even a process that can be disabled to remove it entirely so that I can use a 3rd party app to do the same thing, but customizable.

I guess to answer your question: No, you can't customize it.

The reason I said this:
not sure if the options vary by carrier or International vs American versions.

...was exactly what you confirmed a bit after. Apparently Verizon felt having a WiFi toggle in the quick settings area is unnecessary. Nothing you can do unless you root your phone and flash a rom that includes it or 95% of verizon customers complain so they include it in a future OTA update.

Since features vary by carrier, maybe they included a widget you can have on your home screen to accomplish the same or download a widget from the Google Play Store...

I was posting so we could confirm wether the carrier made a difference  & frankly if you don't want input maybe consider NOT posting on a public discussion forum. Just a thought. You are not the only person that will want to use this thread for reference.
