Problem connecting galaxy s3 to kies?

Hi,

When did you download Kies? I was also having this problem when I first got my S3. It told me the device was incompatible, but the new version worked fine!

Open kies as follows and try this:

right click on the kies icon on the pc select trouble shoot compatabilty (windows 7) and try and use windows xp with service pack 3 or 4 as where kies worked properly save the changes and then open kies and try and connect your phone again I have no connecting since doing this.  worth a try

Does anyone have anything on this?
I have searched many forums and I see this problem over and over again..
The solutions always seem to be be non repeatable and almost chance.

I have galaxy S3 with Jellybean and CyanogenMod 10.0.0-d2att
(plenty of people out there with the same problem and a stock phone so lets not blame this yet)

Running Windows 7
Tried un-install and re-install as administrator. Downloaded Kies and drivers from Samsung webside Dec 1st 2012.

Kies just says "connecting" for about 20 min. then nothing.
Trouble shooting option says reboot phone (also contrary to someone elses post it specifically says to disconnect first - either way does not work)

Someone suggested removing the SD card. I cant imagine why this would matter but in my case it does not make any difference.. in fact no matter what I do kies reacts the exact same way..

I should note that I have NO issues with seeing the phone memory or SD card memory from windows explorer when connected via wired USB connection - just garbage software kies..

Cannot connect via blutooth either kies says device rejected connection even after the computer and phone agree with pairing codes.

Not interested in kies wireless..

I can send individual files to my computer via bluetooth file transfer
I have tried MTP and PTP no difference

 Drop Box has no problem transfering pics via wired USB connection..

Is there a better software out there because Kies is apparently a joke this problem has been circulating around since maybe 2010 on S2? Rediculous..

I have had this problem for a long time. And it seems to reach phone models sperattically and I don't know why. I spent many hrs online with different isp/cell providers and Samsung tech and admin support and from a i can tell kies is made from a separate company and neither kies nor Samsung have a clue as to what is going on. apparently the numbers to do a patch or a recall just aren't there.
So, after many trials nad experiments here is what I do to get it going again.

1-plug in phone. Get the hardware ID message. Leave phone plugged in.

2- open device manager. Click on. Android Phone and Uninstall Samsung Android ADB Interface. Also check the "delete software driver" when the dialog box shows.

3-still in device manager. Scroll down to Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Uninstall Samsung Mobile USB Composite Device.

4-unplug phone.

5-reboot pc.

6-install SAMSUNG USB drivers from their site or from here

7-reboot or not. Plug in phone.

When you connect your phone to the computer to use kies. unplug your internet and plug it back in once connection has been established.
