Have an problem saving pictures from text messages. When I pick the save attachment button it will produce a box with "imagejpeg_3.jpg" and a box that I am suppose to check and then hit save.  The problem is every picture in the same thread has the same file name. So every time I save a picture it is saved over the last picture.  And another thing I have noticed is each thread has an number assigned to it.  So every picture in my Mom's thread is 3, sister 2 and wife 1.

I know I can manually change the file number to save each one but there has to be an easier way.  I can't imagine having to try and remember what number I am on when I start reaching high numbers.

Also I checked and the pictures are not auto saved to my SD card.

IMHO the stock messaging app. is rubbish, Adequate for occasional users but not for an habitual texter.

I use Handcent SMS and that renames saved attachments by adding a number to the file names.

That is what I am finding out. I just can't believe the stock one would have such an easy problem to solve. Downloaded Go SMS Pro last night hope that will do the trick. Going back and forth between that and Handcent.
