No task manager is need for any android phone after 2.1 - it manages it dynamically. If you have a trouble app it can always be force closed via the application setting. By using task managers you can reduce battery life as the android system runs RAM as fully used, and thus by you closing apps it will reboot them or something else to refill RAM. While an app is in RAM and in the background it shouldn't be using battery (i.e. a web page will continue to load if you put it in the background, but once it has loaded it will retain that loaded state and will not refresh). If Android needs that RAM occupied by a "frozen" app it will automatically close it.

That is why sometimes people may laugh when it is called multi-tasking as it only really multi-tasks to a basic degree. But its still better than anything else currently on the market (if I remember correct I think the old palm pre actually did properly multi-task - or it might have just been like android now, but then it isn't on the market anymore either).

If you insist on using one, use the built in one. Long press the home button (the long oblong one at the bottom of the phone). This brings up a list of "active apps" and two buttons at the bottom. Task manager, remove all; or you can close the apps on the list by swiping them sideways.
