I am probably missing something but on my Evo I had a Mic icon on the keyboard when it was displayed for sending a text message. I click that and it would allow me to speak the message.  I see no simliar icon on the keyboard on the S3.

I have reviewed the settings (Language and Input) and have Google Voice Typing enabled.
It shows (in the Keyboard and input Methods section) that the Default keyboard is Samsung - and if I check the settings for it i see Voice Input selected (show voice entry button on keyboard).

I do see the mic icon at the top of the screen when searching (google or browser) while the keyboard is displayed at the bottom..

So i am confused...

Hmmm I too don't see the voice button on the standard keyboard, but if you pull the notification screen down and tap the Select Input Method (keyboard icon) you can then select Google Voice Typing which should launch voice input with a mic symbol and the word listening above it - that is the only way I've found to enable it, maybe others will have another way.

Yes there is another way.
Ok from your home page,
Go to settings
Then to LANGUAGE AND INPUT
now, first make sure the GOOGLE VOICE TYPING is checked.
then
Click the "settings" icon, which is to the right of the SAMSUNG KEYBOARD...(NOT the one to the right of GOOGLE VOICE TYPING).
You should now be inside SAMSUNG KEYBOARD SETTINGS.
go down to VOICE INPUT and check the box to the right of it. Its called "Show Voice Entry Button on Keyboard. After u click that.
All done!

Thanks for your input, but that's the way he and I have tried it, the point being there is no voice button on the keyboard after you have applied those settings.

Nooo...trust me. If u follow those instructions just as I told u, ....wait...(going back to check)

If you did that, and there is still a (settings icon) on the left bottom of your keyboard...
just press down on that settings icon (for 2 seconds) and you will see a choice of 3 different Icons pop up. Drag your finger to the microphone.
It will then place the microphone there permanently.

glad it worked out.
Now do any of u happen to know how to customize your CALENDAR notification tone? (It was once a simple task).
Now when you make a new mp3, and set it, it reverts back to the "ON TIME" default tone.

Any ideas?

ps. can we set this site to notify our cell phone for responses?

Sorry, I don't use the stock calendar I use Business Calendar and even that I don't use sound notifications, but just a thought do you have any other app that might intercept the notification and make it default?
